Chia Seed

Ancient cultures throughout Central America have long enjoyed chia seeds as a key part of their food and medicine. Chia Seeds are loaded with omega fats, protein, antioxidants and dietary fiber. They have a mild nutty flavor, and since they absorb liquid, they’re ideal for hydration and feeling full.  Chia Seeds are an excellent source of healthy essential fatty acids - containing eight times more omega-3 fatty acids than salmon! Chia seeds are also one of the most digestible plant proteins, an excellent source of dietary fiber, and a powerhouse of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and free-radical fighting antioxidants.

Flax Seed

Flax seed was cultivated in Babylon as early as 3000 BC. In the 8th century, King Charlemagne believed so strongly in the health benefits of flaxseed that he passed laws requiring his subjects to consume it.  Flaxseeds (also called linseeds) are a rich source of micronutrients, dietary fiber, manganese, vitamin B1, and the essential fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid, also known as ALA or omega-3.

Hemp Protein

Hemp is among the most concentrated protein sources of all the plant foods, and it’s a complete protein source – offering all the essential amino acids.  It is also a healthy source of dietary fiber, chlorophyll, and minerals including magnesium, iron, zinc and potassium.  We use hemp powder that does not contain gluten or added sugars and is free of the enzyme inhibitors that can prevent protein absorption.  Hemp is an immensely sustainable, fast-growing, drought-resistant and hardy crop, making it a healthy alternative to genetically modified products that use excessive resources. Hemp absorbs large quantities of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere and actually improves soil structure over time. Hemp is an ancient plant that is proving to be an efficient natural resource for the future.

Maca

Maca is a potent, ancient Peruvian superfood used by indigenous Andean societies as a source of nourishment and healing for thousands of years.  The maca root was prized throughout the Inca empire for its adaptogenic-like qualities that enable it to nourish and balance the body's delicate endocrine system, and to help cope with stress. It also energizes naturally, without the jitters and crashes of caffeine, and it can aid in reproductive function, helping to balance hormones and increase fertility.  Maca powder is made from maca root that is dried and milled at low temperatures in order to preserve the complex nutrition of this superfood.  Maca Powder is loaded with nutritious vitamins, minerals, amino acids and plant sterols, including vitamins B1, B2, B, C, D, E, iron, potassium, copper, magnesium, selenium, phosphorous and calcium. It's a fiber-rich food and a good source of plant protein (about ten percent). Maca root is also a source of fatty acids, and it contains four unique alkaloids (Macaina 1, 2, 3 and 4).

Goji Berry Powder

This low-glycemic sweetener contains many nutrients including beta-carotene, iron, zinc, vitamin B3, calcium and protein. Yellow lucuma powder has a unique, maple-like taste.  Lucuma is grown sustainably without the use of pesticides, and is intercropped with other plants to increase the benefits for farmers.
